Still dropping with sync errors. Is this normal at all? Is there any reason that I should need to reboot the modem periodically? With my ATT modem (previous house) i never had to reboot. The XFinity modem does not crash either. I don't want to use it or pay the extra $$ to do so, and it has less wifi range than the Netgear CAX30

So after a lengthy chat with netgear support, they have told me that my downstream power is too weak. They told me that it is supposed to be between -7 dBmV and +7 dBmV. Mine is running between 4 and 5 dBmV (see above info).
If I am at +4 or +5 dBmV, how is that too weak when the recommended band is MINUS 7 to PLUS 7 dBmV? It must have been a language thing because "Sharon" and "Fatima" told me it is too weak at PLUS 4.
They quoted me this FAQ: https://kb.netgear.com/24311/Power-level-guidelines-for-a-NETGEAR-cable-modem-router
"Good Downstream power levels are within -7 to +7 dBmV."

Yes.
Have the ISP check the signal and line quality UP to the modem. Be sure the ISP provisions the modem correctly.
Be sure there are no coax cable line splitters in the between the modem and ISP service box.
Be sure your using good quality RG6 coax cable up to the modem.Your modem should not need a reboot or power cycle to correct anything unless your troubleshooting something.
- PhuclegauJan 04, 2022AspirantI think the problem was the firmware. I have issues with the wifi connection. When I first got it everything working great. Ally devices connect right away. After overnight the modem automatically updated to newest firmware which is .10.8. The oldest firmware was .10.4. So, how do I know that was firmware because I downgraded and it’s working fine. The modem automatically updated or check for newest firmware from 12-4 AM every time. I return and buy a new one. Same model same everything. Same issue. Working fine for a day then bumped. No wifi connection. Sometime slow connected on my phone but TV won’t able to connected. Called netgear support. They asking me to ask internet provider stop sending firmware update. It’s sound funny because internet provider has nothing to do with it. The manufacturer is the on creating new firmware. When ever the modem got internet it will check for update. I gave up and went back to my old modem and then everything working fine. I’m looking for a different modem different model because this CAX30 having firmware issues that cause so much problems on wifi connection.
Hopefully they will release a new firmware that will fix but I don’t think with in a day.
Return/ replacement or wait for it
Good luck
