I have no dog in this fight, but I'd be interested to learn why the
default LAN IP address of this thing was set at "192.168.1.1", instead
of the previous standard for cable-TV gizmos, "192.168.0.1".
Apparently, that decision has overloaded the support training system.
What was the (perceived) benefit?that is a good question my friend i've already done a hard reset 3 times so i know for sure the default is 192.168.1.1 now the rest you've got to ask the experts behind it

The CAX80 User Manual agrees. I'm convinced, but mystified.
