CAX80 Internet cuts out everyday
Hey Friends, My internet access wired and wifi seems to go down everyday at the same time. Thought it was the DHCP lease renewing but that's on a 7 day timer, a simple reboot of the router fixes ...

Lots of wood neighbors nearby live down town in a 3 flat I can probably pick up 6 different networks from my house.
I pay for 1 gig from RCN Speedtests on the new Xbox confirm 1100 down. 60 up.
Just got the box for my birthday on the 9th. Haven’t had any issues other than the intermittency when it works it’s awesome.
You’ve had a cax80 since last year? Didnt it come out in July?

If your paying for 1Gb, then the channels are not all locking in. You should be seeing 31-32 channels locked on a 1Gb service.
Something you need to have the ISP service check for.
Sorry, I was thinking of a different NG product. :smileyembarrassed:
- 90sScottDec 17, 2020AspirantThanks I’ll get them back out here today but my speedtests are confirming 1 gig speeds.
Could RCN be running a different configuration than is common? They are a small localized carrier - FURRYe38Dec 17, 2020Guru - Experienced User
Yes. They need to check the configuration file there sending down.
Most ISPs are using 31-32 channels.
- 90sScottDec 20, 2020AspirantChecked config seems right on their end download speeds on 1200 mbps for me so I think it’s fine or a misrepresented issue.
NG Support sent me an RMA and a new one however it is in a boot loop and won’t factory reset at this point I’ll keep the old one as the connection has gotten steadily more stable. - FURRYe38Dec 20, 2020Guru - Experienced User
Do you have the new RMA CAX80 connected to the coax line or do you have it disconnected from the coax line when you trying to set it up? For the CAX80, it needs to be connected to the ISP coax line or a auto reboot loop will be seen. Ya, I know, this is an odd behavior for a gateway modem. This is a known thing for the CAX80.

Updating everyone here been through 3 CAX80's still no fix to this issue that I know of RCN says everything is good and netgear blames them.
At this point it's likely the code/device and I'm waiting for NG to contact me back
