CAX80 with Verizon FIOS?
Greetings. So I recently moved from Spectrum to FIOS. I really trying to figure out a way to use my modem instead of Verizon, particularly not as a gateway. Do forgive me if I'm butchering any ter...

Unfortunately for the CAX80, you can't even use it in faux AP mode, and by design, the CAX80 auto reboots if signal is lost on the RG6 coax connector or if the coax is disconnected from the CAX80. No idea why NG did this. :smileyembarrassed:

My understanding is that because the CAX80 uses a LAN, I cannot connect the ethernet wire going from the ONT to the CAX80 because that port needs to be a WAN. Does that sound right?

That might explain why I did have internet connection at various points with the CAX80 plugged into the ONT, but kept dropping very frequently.
