CG3000D-1ghnas Reset doesn't go to factory defaults
Changed computers to a Windows 10 unit. Couldn't access the gateway because the passwords won't work, did a factory default but that didn't help. This is not a Charter unit I have Time Warner but did not purchase from them. Any ideas as to what passwords might work or what I can do to access the gateway. I'm trying to get the wireless passwords. Thanks Jim

Hello jmanton5718
By default it should be password but being a cable modem it possibly for a strange reason be your phone number or the mac/serial number of the modem.

I have a slightly different model, CG3000D-1CHNAS, and I found this post because I thought I had the exact same problem: I reset the router, and my default admin/password combo didn't get me into the gateway settings. Also, the new wifi SSID it set itself to was something strange like "AA27ZA", and I didn't know what the password was for the wifi by default... all of this was contrary to the documentation which said it would be SSID:"Wireless" and then password would be 6 digits of my device's MAC address for the password.
However, after waiting perhaps 30 minutes, I tried one more time to log in at 192.168.0.1 with admin/password and it worked. I also was able to see the WIFI password, which turned out to be the serial number of my device. So there you go, I suggest you reset the unit, wait thirty minutes, and keep trying.
