CG3000D Lose internet every 20min to 1 hour.

Netgear CG3000D

Provider: Charter Spectrum cable

For at least a week now I have had a loss of internet every 10 minutes to 1 hour.  The connection cuts out for anywhere up to 1 minute.  It is very frustrating when playing online competitive games.  The router has 2 PC's on hardlines and various wireless devices normally connected (PS4, Laptop, Ipad)

- It is not just my PC.  It effects all devices in my home including a second PC.

- I tried running with just my PC connected.

- Oddly the modems lights do not show a disconnect and the Windows bottom right network icon never shows yellow or red.

- The attached Landline phone modem seems unaffected and I still have a dialtone during this time.

- The in game ping doesnt slowly rise or anything....it just hard cuts my connection for a time.

- I have tried many times to reboot router and even did a factory reset.

Any ideas?  Should I be buying a new router?

Thanks

  • I have since

    - Bypassed the splitter to the phone.

    - Tried a different coax cable

    - Dusted and put a fan on the modem/router to check for overheating

    - Called Charter and they changed my freq channels for me to a 'cleaner' channel.  So far didnt work.

    - I am currently disabling Wireless to see if its the problem somehow.

I have ordered a Motorola MG7550 modem AC1900 router.  Hopefully that will solve my issue.
