Here's an update on the issue I've encountered, and appears to be the same as others are experiencing. I changed the wireless channel, but it hasn't fixed the problem. Every 2-3 weeks the wireless function seems to become paralyzed and all connected devices are unable to access the internet. Rebooting the router has been the only way to get it working again. Nothing from the wireless device end (phone, tablet, laptop; resetting connections, deleting connections, rebooting devices) has worked.
It's been worse a couple of times. The wired connection has also stopped - don't know if the router has crashed at that point or what. A hard reboot fixes the problem, at least temporarily.
I've never had such reliability problems from a router before. Quite disappointing.
<sigh> I think I'm going to have to take a loss on this equipment, ditch it, and go with another product. This is irritating and time consuming. Too bad, I've always used Netgear but this router modem seems to be a dud.
