Factory reset only erases settings. It does not restore the original firmware. Usually, you go to support.netgear.com, enter your model number and download firmware. Unfortunately, I don't see any firmware downloads for your model. Often, firmware for cable modem/routers is not upgradable by users.

  Are you able to provide some screenshots of your event log page and the cable connection page so I can send this over to our engineers to investigate the issues. and when you talk about intermitten tissues are you talking with the Wifi or with the internet or with both?
