CM1000 not getting gigabit speeds after upgrading

Hello,

I upgraded to gigabit through xfinity, had a tech come out here and he tested it on the same line the modem is on and got over 1000 Mbit down with his testing equipment. I am getting about 450-500, I am not sure what's going on or why but I contacted comcast and they said everything was good, the line was set to gigabit, my upload has gone up but the downloads seem never to go over 500.

Is the speed testing with a wired PC connected directly to the CM modem or thru a wireless router?

Speed checking with a wired PC connected to the CM modem directly is recommended first.

If there is a wireless router in between the CM modem and your PC, what is the Mfr and model# of the router?

Hello, I am routed through a wireless router, it's a GT 5300 AC from Asus, but when I hook it up straight to my computer, I get the same result.

What is the Mfr and mode # of this wired PC?

What is the Mfr and model# of the wired network adapter card installed in this PC?

Is your PC reporting the connection rate between your PC and the modem as 1000Mbps?

Any background running programs like security programs running?

Can you try a different wired PC to compare speeds?

Swap the LAN cable between the PC and modem.
