CM1000v2 Cox Dropping Internet Connection
Good morning folks. I have been having an issue with my Cox service for quite sometime. The internet will just "vanish", but the Eth0 & WiFi will continue to work fine. At first, thought it was our r...

FURRYe38 - just set up a T-Call with an In-House Cox Tech instead of a contractor for Monday afternoon. Contractors don't have availability to do attenuators. I know they can add Amps, but can't do anything to "reduce" the signal at the Tap.
This should be interesting.
And let me ask you this... If you *don't* have the Attenuator in there, what are your values?

Did you try a signal attenuator? Or even sticking a quad splitter (with the other 3 legs capped) on it?
You are pretty darned high but its not getting errors. Its just might be erroring out or triggering a reboot/reset with that high of values.
And your upstream is low enough that a signal attenuator or splitter means your modem can up its upstream power without causing issues (if you've got a decent attenuator/splitter)

plemans, no I have not tried anything. I set up a service call for an in-house tech (not contractor) to come out early next week and either install an attenuator or splitter or whatever they need to do to get the levels down to normal.
On the Cox Forums, someone had mentioned this, which is somewhat in line with the responses I have bee getting from everyone here. Obviously the person couldn't read that I said it is a straight line with no splitters or anything installed. 🙂
The SNR is low for the OFDM channel which is the 300Mhz range. I also see error in the logs about the OFDM channel. Finally I see a T4 error, which is a full reset. I would try to bypass all splitters for a day and see if a direct connection from the street to the room the modem is in helps. If not, schedule a technician.
