CM1100 Modem installation quwpestions
Just purchased the CM1100 modem (along with AX4300 router) and am trying to install the modem. My internet provider's modem/router combo is via fiber optic (FIOS) and there is no coax cable attached...

"AX4300" is a speed, not a model number. Look for "Model" on the
product label. RAX45, perhaps?

Who/what is the ISP? What, exactly, is this "modem/router combo"?
Maker? Model number? Any useful information at all? Does _it_ work?

How, exactly, is this "the fiber optic cable" terminated? Are you
actually holding an optical fiber, or does the fiber terminate at an
ONT, leaving you with an Ethernet cable, or what?

It's a cable-TV modem. If you don't have a cable-TV ISP, then it's
of no value to you.

And connect it to what? The CM1100 and what else? Do you have "a
cable wall outlet"?

The non-psychics in your audience might know very little about your
"the fiber optic cable" or your "the internet provider's modem/router
combo".

"using" _how_, exactly? (Hint: If a device has different types of
Ethernet ports, then "connected to device" is not enough detail.)

Trying to use a cable-TV modem with some other type of Internet
service?
Not describing your equipment, or how it's connected or configured?

Apologies for not being tech savvy.
I hope this additional information helps.
My internet provider is Windstream/Kinetic and they provided the currently used ActionTec T3200A modem/router combo unit. I am replacing this single unit with Netgear's CM1100 modem and RAX45 router.
The T3200 is currently connected to the wall via an Ethernet cable to the T3200's WAN port.

you have an Ethernet connection to the T3200A, then you have no use for
a cable-TV modem like the CM1100.> [...] I am replacing this single unit with Netgear's CM1100 modem and

I'd guess that the RAX45 could be used, with its WAN/Internet
Ethernet port connected the way the T3200A WAN Ethernet port is
connected ("to the wall via an Ethernet cable"), but there may be some
configuration details whuch the RAX45 set-up wizard can't puzzle out on
its own. Your ISP should be able to suggest some specific settings to
use on a third-party router with their service.
