My CM1100 max's out at 900Mbs when I had that service plan for several months last year. It supports up to this speed. The tech should have tested the CM1100 on there system. Did he? Was the modem fully powered OFF for 1 minute then back on then tested again with Ooklas speedtest installable app? Try a different PC to compare.
Possible the unit maybe faulty, however I doubt it.

I called Xfinity and they came with their cable modem Xfi and their modem is able to achieve speed up to 400Mbps being via cat6 cable or the build in wifi signal (Same laptop). Speedtest.net is the testing website. The technician advised me to rent their Xfi modem instead of using the Netgear CM1100 in order to achieve the 400Mbps speed. Is there anyone from Netgear who can advise me on how I can get the 400Mbps speed? Or should I return the Netgear and try the Motorola SB8600? Thanks!
