the Arris sb8200 should support gigabit speeds. What website are you using for testing? I have gigabit and many speedtest websites won't max it out. you can try. I know both of these can get close to maxing out gigabit.

I just bought the Netgear Nighthawk CM1100 and will see if I get an Internet speed increase over my Arris SB8200.

did upgrading to the CM1100 fix the issue?
Maybe a stupid question but if I install two Cat6a cables between the 2 Lan ports on my CM1100 and my wireless router will it increase the speed?
