Cm1100

The router has 2 Ethernet ports. Can I connect one to my wifi router and one to a computer or other device on my (one) network? Or is it for aggregation ONLY. Thanks!

Not sure if astound supports multi wan port on it.

    Doubtful as not many do.

    Who's your isp?

The majority only support 1 device connected.

But some do support more than 1.

  • I was hoping just to use it (that port) as a router inside my house. Sort of giving me an extra LAN port….I think that is what the CM 1200 might allow? But I am thinking the CM1100 won’t. But I wasn’t sure

For both its ISP dependent. Its because most ISP's only assign 1 public ip address unless you pay for a business class line.

So it really doesn't matter if its the cm1100 or the cm1200, its more about who's your ISP.

      Who is your isp?

It’s Astound, but I just wanted to use it as a router. Sounds like the Ethernet ports are for multi-WAN vs LAN connections. Oh well
