The internet input to the CM1100 has to come via coax cable. How does your current all in one modem and router provided by the internet company connect to the internet? Via Ethernet does not sound quite right.
What is the brand name and model number of this all in one modem and router? Look on the label.

The CM modem is a modem only, no built in router. Its designed to be used with Cable ISP services. Does not work with DSL or Fiber ISP services.

They are not interchangeable.
Most fiber internet installations and vendors do not provide for a customer owned ONT. If you are unhappy with the router/Wi-Fi that is part of your C4000XG, you may be able to configure the terminal for Ethernet output only by disabling the router and Wi-Fi functions. That way you could use your own router/Wi-Fi device, not the CM1100. You would have to deal with Century Link to obtain the configuration details.
