CM1150V DHCP fail to router every few minutes

Equipment: CM1150V with Comcast, firmware is 2.02.04.

With increasing frequency, DHCP to the router fails.  I replaced the aging Wi-Fi router that it was connected to with a new one, thinking this was the problem.  Unfortunately the failures continue.  I also replaced the Ethernet cable with a brand new one.  I have rebooted the CM multiple times over the last few days.  The outages are now occuring every few minutes.

 

The cable connection is good.  The CM reports downstream power >= 1.1 dBmV, and the SNR is >= 41.1 dB with all channels locked.  The event log doesn't show anything exceptional.  The last messages this morning are:

but i'm pretty sure this is when I power-cycled the modem this modem.

 

This modem is serving what is now a typical pandemic household, with kids and adults connected to their respective VPNs for school and work.

 

How can I troubleshoot and fix this?  It would be nice if I could capture more detailed logs from the CM.

    do you have a screen snip of the cable connections page and the logs? 

    Also, is anything else plugged into the other 3 ports? I know it has more ports but the average consumer can only use port 1 because most ISP's only assign 1 public ip address. so unless you pay for more, are one of the lucky few who's isp does allow more (rare), have a business class line, or have a router that supports wan port aggregation, then only port 1 is usable.

        Update: Strangely, the link dropped from 1000 Mbps to 100 Mbps.  There is nothing in the logs that indicates why this might have happened.  However, the link has been stable for just over an hour now.  So now i've got two mysteries: why was the link dropping with the 1 Gb link, and why did it renegotiate a link at 100 Mb on its own?

        I'll wait a little longer to be sure the link is stable, and then open a new thread for the 1 Gb to 100 Gb drop.
