CM1200 speed output is lower than measured straight off the cable
I just had a Spectrum tech over here to fix an unrelated issue. He did a speed test with his fancy meter with the cable plugged directly into it. No CM1200 involved. He was getting 1.2Gb down, right ...
Thats because of the ethernet ports on the CM are only rated at 1Gb connection rates. You'll not see anything much over 900Mbps on a single line. If LAG was enabled and you had a PC with LAG support, possible you could see over 1Gb if you can saturate the lines in LAG mode. Otherwise your getting what the modem supports. Anything over 1Gb, you'll need a CM2000 series which as a 2.5Gb port.
Ah. That makes sense. Ok, so the CM1200 has an option to aggregate 2 ports together. My Orbi RBR850 router has a 2.5Gb port, but also has an option to aggregate another port to it. Do you think this would work?
