I have had the CM2050V for about a year and prior to this last month it never had any issues. Rock solid connections with just a few short interruptions overnight a few times as I believed that Xfinity has been performing service upgrades in my area as well.
However, In the last month I have repeatedly had the exact same issue that you have described. Most recently it happened twice in two days. Signal levels are normally fantastic. When I lose connection the downstream and upstream lights are solid and internet connection light blinks. Only solution is a modem reboot and it immediately comes back up with perfect signals.
Seems to definitely be something going on that is possibly related to this firmware and I am hopeful they resolve it because it is causing me some angst with my VPN and some automatic backup routines I have setup to run on a schedule. Each time I perform the power cycle to fix this issue I am assigned a new IP address which then requires me to reconfigure my VPN on both ends.
