CM400 upstream connection and login problems

Hi,

For the last month or so I have had my internet drop ou 2-3 times per day for about 5 minutes. Each time, the internet light goes out, then the upstream light starts flashing, and then they both eventually reconnect in order.

I believe the problem is that the modem doesn't lock an upstream signal. I have only one splitter before the modem, which I cannot remove as it was installed by the cable company due to my apartment complex's wiring.

I also am unable to check the back end to post logs. Each time I go to 192.168.100.1, I get the popup for the username and password, but the defaults don't work. I have tried doing a reset by holding the button on the back, but it doesn't seem to reset the password.

Any help would be appreciated :)

Thanks!

Bill

    Hello Phrzn

The logs may tell us whats wrong did you hold the reset button for 10 seconds and try the login of admin/password.

I held the reset button for 10 seconds, the lights turned amber, and then when it booted back up, admin/password  didnt work.

I also tried holding it for one minute, and holding it for 10 seconds, unplugging, holding for 30 more, then waiting 5 mins, and replugging, as suggested on another thread.  Nothing has worked :(
