Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.
What is the brand and model of the host wifi router connected to the modem?
What happens when you connect a wired PC to the modem with out the router?

Both router and modem are NetGear. Modem is a CM500 and the router is an AC1200 model R6120
I’m not 100% sure if I use CAT6 but it’s the same cable that I’ve been using since I first got the equipment and it only started having an issue after moving it out of the armoire. For context, I had the PC, modem, and router inside but as the internet kept dropping in and out, I thought it would be best to keep it outside the thing so it wouldn’t overheat.
Connecting the PC directly to the modem doesn’t seem to change anything other than the light color on the modem, which is now flashing green instead of amber. The error message I get when doing troubleshooting on the computer is “Ethernet 2 doesn’t have a valid IP configuration”

- AnnaStaffordJun 18, 2022AspirantThought I’d add an update. Reset the network on the pc, fixed the configuration error but now there’s a DNS server error.
Tried to reset the modem one more time. Seemed to fix the problem with the PC internet. Testing the router now.
Still flashing amber on the router. Router we also reset but the modem and router are still not getting along
