CM500 with Orbi speed issues
I have a CM500 Netgear modem with the Orbi RBK50. I do a speed test on Negears Orbi app and I get 454.27Mbps and Upload 23.59. I have Spectrum internet. If I go to Google Fiber site I get 174 downloa...
It's 400mbps A wired connection I get 445mbps. I'm justin using my phone to do a speed test. What is the difference from say online test to the Orbi app test that would be that much different?
This means that CM500 is good, your Orbi wired connection is good as well.
have you checked you actual client CPE device (you phone, laptop, etc). Is it capable of 11ac 5GHz? this looks like wireless CPE problem rather than CM500 issue.
Yes all my devices can do that. I did a speed test upstairs and I get 202mbps on speedtest. Still on the Orbi app I get 456mbps. My modem and router are downstairs. I noticed in the it says the Sattilite has a poor backhaul.
make sure your satellite is closer so that backhaul connection is good.
and test using cell phone on main router to see the speeds first.
Downstairs where the modem is and router I'm getting 404mpbs now. When I got up 2 floors It goes down to 197 to 202 mpbs. Would a Orbi plug be a good idea for the middle floor? Thanks for your help.
