CM600 & Ubiquiti Setup

Im trying to connect my new CM600 modem to my Ubiquiti USG and having some connection issues. The modem has internet, and is connected directly to the WAN port on the USG and out from it's LAN port to my Uni-fi 8-port switch. From there, there's an ethernet cable out to my laptop. Problem is that the internet connection isnt getting passed through to my laptop. This should work (I've done it w/ Arris modem), but for some reason, the internet connection isn't working. Help?

    Power OFF both CM modem and gateway for 30 seconds, then back ON with the CM modem and let it sync, then power ON the gateway. 

    If still nothing, check with the Mfr of this gateway for help and support.
