Cable Operators have strictly specified that once the MDD IP mode has been, it should be locked and cannot be modified by the end-user.this is requirement from ISPs vendors have to follow.

Hi vkdelta, thanks for the response! I realize that it's apparently standard for them to push the updates. My question is, how do I get my cable modem back in working conditions, so I can use it with my new ISP? After all, it's my cable modem, not the ISPs, and it isn't written anywhere that it's a single-use device that gets thrown away if you dare switch away from a service provider.. is it something Netgear can reset in the modem?
