CM600 Xfinity: Modem Access Denied

I purchased the CM600 to pair with our Xfinity service   The setup was easy and everything is working   I attempted to access the CM600 settings with the default "admin and password" credentials ...

Disconnect the modem from the coax line. Connect a wired PC to the back of the modem. Factory reset the modem by pressing the reset button in back for 15 seconds then release. Wait a few minutes. Using a web browser, log in to the modems web page at 192.168.100.1. Attempt to gain access with admin and password. Does this work?

    At one point do I reattach the coax?

     

    Will the "reset" affect connection to Xfinity?

      Can reattach if you gain access. 

       

      It only resets the modem and and connection to the service. The modem will get a new IP address possibly and thats it.
