The CM700 and most cable modems only service 1 WAN IP address.
Standard networking connect configurations for home class modems and routers and switches are:
Cable modem>Router>Switch<All wired devices to switch.
You can't have two routers behind this model modem.
If your ISP supports having more then 1 WAN IP address, then you would need a CM1100 or 1200 modem. Those support more than one IP address coming from the WAN/ISP.

I wanted to add a second router so I installed a Netgear Prosafe switch between the original router and the cable modem. That works fine. However I can't figure out how to add a second router to the switch. All i get from a browser when connecting to the second router is No Internet Connection. I did have the second router connected to the first router and that worked fine. However the cabling in my house requires me to use the switch. Any ideas?
