CM700 Modem used with Trendnet Router and google wifi = No internet access
Hi, I have a Netgear CM700 cable modem. To that, I have a 16-port trendnet teg-s16dg gigabit router where all of my hardwired connections take place. I also have a google wifi device plugged into the router. My wireless connections work fine but my wired connections can't access the internet. When running windows network diagnostics, it says that "Ethernet" doesn't have a valid IP configuration. When I plug one of my hardwired connections directly into the CM700, the internet works fine.

A TRENDnet TEG-S16Dg is a 16-Port gigabit switch, not a router.

Not a very detailed description of anything.

Yes, you can connect any _one_ device to your cable modem. If you
want to connect multiple devices to your cable modem, then you'll need
to make that one device a NAT router, and connect your devices to the
router, not to the cable modem. An Ethernet switch is not a router.
