Glad the replacement worked.
Ya, It will be up to the ISP to support model modems on there mid split or higher speed tiers. All up them.
Probably not. I'll check and see if I can find out what happened.
Please mark your thread as solved so others will know.
Enjoy.

Today I got a message saying services may interrupt due to a service upgrade. About 10:30am all our service (Cable TV, Internet and Voice) went out for about 40 minutes. After the cable TV came back on, I checked the CM2050v and the MultiGig light was flashing very fast (no other lights on). I pulled the power for a few minutes and as soon as I plug the power back in, the power LED flashes red 1 time very quick, and then the MultiGig light starts flashing fast again. Tried the Reset button and isn't rebooting it (like it use to). I've never had this problem before. I had to reconnect my older Arris TM822G eMTA modem and use the Xfinity app to get it added on my account, and it's working fine (but at 1/5th the speed).
So in my opinion, it appears that whatever Comcast did in the area fried my modem. Could it of been a downstream voltage surge in the line or something else. But now I'm going to have to spend $360 for a new CM2050V (as it was $240 in 2021 when I originally bought it).

I've been using the replacement CM2050v for the past few weeks without any problem.
Today the modem rebooted a couple times, and when I logged into the Admin page it shows there was a firmware update to V10.01.03. I looked on the Cable Diagnostic screen, and it looks a little different (like the v9 from a few years ago) and now have 1 OFDM Upload channel.
I did a Speed test, and before on the 1Gb plan I would get about 1180Mbps down and 24 up, now I'm getting 1288 down and 45 up. So maybe they are doing this mid-split work in the area as well. Technically the C2050v says it can do a few hundred mbos upload with 2 OFDM D3.1, but Comcast site says that for mid-split they only support the CM2500 and CM3000 (which doesn't come with eMTA voice).
The bad one that I sent back to Netgear, is there a year to know if they are going to test it and what the results were?

That would be great if you could find out if Netgear has or will be testing the CM2050v I sent back and if they know what happened to it.

If you are on a current Xfinity plan, not a legacy plan, your upstream throughput should be at least 100 Mbps. The fact you have 45 indicates a problem or possibly you have not been upgraded to mid-split. At this time there are many reports of CM2050V owners seeing the upgraded firmware, V10.01.03, yet there are no reports of anyone seeing upload tests over 45.
If you see any upstream throughput test values at 100 or above, please make a new post here on the forum and report it.

I am on a Comcast grandfathered plan from about 5-6 years ago. It is Extreme Pro Internet, which is what they use to call it before changing the name to Gigabit. I've always got about 1100 down and 25 up. Now with the new v10 firmware the download is 1288 and up is 45.
