IF you want to see speeds past 1Gb, then you'll need both a modem AND wifi router that has WAN and LAN ports that support 2.5Gb or higher.

When I use Google Nest and Netgear CM 1000v2 modem, the speed is reduced from 940mbps to 700mbps vs being connected to an ethernet. I am trying to determine what is the best "fix" (if at all) for this issue. Do I need to upgrade my Netgear modem (ie. Netgear Nighthawk) to have more than one port so I can connect directly to the ethernet and a second port connected to the Google Nest router? Would upgrading to Googe Nest Pro resolve this issue? Or is there even a solution? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
