Connecting to Android and TV

I am trying to connect to my Android phone via Wi-Fi.  The modem is recognized, but my password - the same one I use to log in here - is not recognized and I cannot connect.  I am trying to access my Amazon Fire TV Remote App (the normal remote stopped working and the replacement won't get here for two months).  I also have a Vizio TV, which is connected to the modem via cable.  It can find the modem, but, again, will not recognize and accept the password. Anyone have a solution?

    Have you tried to change the wireless password on the router or make sure the security type is set to WPS2

      I tried last night, and cannot log onto the router via the username of admin and the password of password, nor does it recognize my username and password that I use to log onto this website.  Any ideas how to get past that new obstacle?

        If you forgot what the password is then you would have to factory reset the router and set everything up again.
