    Hello GuyTeb

    Are you seeing any timeouts in your modems logs?

      Hi Darren,

      thanks for asking!

      I don't see timeouts but I do keep seeing something called Ping of Death. It is coming from Port 0.

      i also get these messages:

      [DoS attack: TCP- or UDP-based Port Scan] from 8.8.8.8, port 53 1 Wed Aug 16 13:46:46 2017 24.21.236.254:40844 8.8.8.8:53

      Any ideas?

  • Also you are right I looked further and found some timeout events like this one:

    Received Response to Broadcast Maintenance Request, But no Unicast Maintenance opportunities received - T4 time out;CM-MAC=b0:7f:b9:dc:77:c8;CMTS-MAC=00:9e:1e:59:35:5d;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.0;

    Thanks for for your help!

      You may want your ISP to send a tech to check things out.

        Thanks yes we have done that a couple of times with same result. So after reading more discussion here I am getting a new splitter and new cables and hope that this works. If not I may look at Motorola as an option. Comcast has checked signal strength throughout the house.
        Weird that this is a problem that seems to be associated with Netgear.
