Well it's something to try out and if it doesn'twork you can send the modem back if you find a good seller with a good refund policy.
DOCSIS 3.1 is stable currently. However thats mostly kept for 1Gg services. Most speeds under that are still using DOCSIS 3.0

If I were you I would wait and see if/when they (both xfinity and netgear get there head out of their ars and fix the darn thing. I have this over a week now and each blame the other for the upload bug the reboot bug the pairing with a router bug and so on and so on.
It has been nothing but trouble for me and many others with this CM1150V. You would think for the premium price and xfinity saying it is approved it would work ..lol thats a joke..
