The DGND3700v2 User Manual is vague on this, but some (many?) other
Netgear router models with a wireless-access-point option say to use the
WAN/Internet port on the router-as-WAP. (For example, D7000 and R7000.)
Does the DGND3700v2 management web site say anything helpful when you
select "AP Mode"?

Yup. I know nothing, but if the DGND3700v2-as-WAP sends things like
DHCP broadcast requests out its WAN/Internet port only, then that might
explain something.

-- No, it didn't venture anything when I selected it but I'll switch the cable from LAN to WAN this evening and see what it does. But as I said, the current set up works most of time but sometimes it just stops working and I can't understand it.
