DoS attack from employer VPN
I have a C3700 with the most recent FW V2.02.22. When I initiate a VPN connection from my work laptop, CAT5e not wireless, I can establish a connection for a couple of minutes and then my entire home...

I got the VPN to work finally. Not sure if it is due to this being an older piece of hardware or not but the answer was to disable DoS protection. Something about how this device behaves with the VPN connection acknowledgement from my employer's server and the DoS protection logic just wasn't working. Maybe looking at a future cable modem replacement or adding a dedicated router behind it and letting it just be a cable modem.Bottom line is that I have a working connection. Thanks.

I might check the user manual for this modem.
Check with your work IT group to see if they can help you ensure the modem is configured. Possible a port forwarding configuration maybe needed. I would let them know what there VPN is doing.

Thanks. I have been working with my IT team and it was they that suggested whitelisting the IP. I had asked if port forwarding would be an option but they pointed me to the firewall. I could setup port forwarding and test.
Is there no possiblitiy to edit the firewall settings on the c3700 N600?

Not sure if there is any configuration on this model modem...something to check in the user manual, if not, then try the Port Forward configuration.

Nothing in the manual reagrding access to the firewall configuration, at best I can disable Port scan and DoS protection or disable the firewall altogether. I will post my findings with the Port Forwarding option once I have a chance to give it a go.
