Enable double NAT on C7000v2

I live in a building that gives me their router with their Internet connection. I can't change their router.

Their router, of course, doesn't allow to perform any basic tasks like setting up static addresses.

This is an issue for smart home devices that are supposed to have a static IP.

I have a C7000v2. Is it possible to connect this router to the main router via Ethernet, and allow the Netgear to create its own network (totally separated from the main one)? I think this is called double NAT, is that correct? I know it's possible to set it up as an AP with a workaround, but I'd have to disable DHCP which defeats the main purpose of what I'm trying to do.

I also know it's recommended not to have a double NAT, but I would keep connecting my own devices to the main network, so this wouldn't be an issue.

Not with the C7000. You'd want just a router device and not a modem/router device.
