That's a cable-TV modem+router. Only your ISP can update its
firmware.

What do the LED indicators on your device indicate?
Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your (actual) model number,
and look for Documentation. Get the User Manual. Look for the LED
descriptions. Further reading might also be helpful.
- colnhausenFeb 10, 2019AspirantYes, it's a nighthawk c7000 v1. My desktop is a HP. My ISP provider didn't provide the modem/router so they won't manage the device. I tried to update via nether software, web and mobile app (not compatible with remote managment.)

If your firmware is outdated, you cannot manually upgrade your
cable modem's or modem router's firmware. You must contact your
