Expected Speed
Hello all, I recently installed a Nighthawk x4-AC3200 C7500 Cable Modem Router. After getting it up and running, I ran a speed test. I am signed up with a Spectrum account that offers 400 mbps....

You are right about 5G, I also tested both modems with my phone and with 5G I was able to get 150-170 mbps. Even with my phone (Galaxy Note 8), I was able to get about 20 mbps on 2.4G.

Are you getting to spec speeds on wired speed testing?
Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since chaning ISP speeds?

When testing from my desktop (ethernet), I am getting 417 mbps and I am supposed to be getting 400 from spectrum so yes, I am getting what I should get.
As for factory reset, I did a factory reset on both the Netgear c7550 and when I went back to the netgear c6300. I even called spectrum each time to send an activation ping for both when I set them each up.

What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz. I would disable the 2.4Ghz wifi on the modem and test again. This will ensure your wireless device is connecting on the 5ghz radio.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?Try enabling WMM. Set 20/40Mhz Coexistence to 40Mhz only. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings
Is there a Airtime Fairness feature on your modem?

I have used 6, 9 and 11 on 2.4G and several on 5G but 5G, no matter the channel is usually between 150-200 mbps so I am not that worried about 5G especially when most of our devices have to use the 2.4G signal.
I do have neighbors and I do see their networks but most of them are 1 bar. I will try the 20/40Mhz Coexistence and see what happens. I have never heard of that so we will see.
Also have not heard of airtime fairness so I Don't think my modem/ routers have it.
Speaking of other networks, I do have a couple of google homes, one right next to the modem/ router and one downstairs. Their signal is very strong. I also have several alexas but I don't see them as avaliable networks. Could the Google homes be causing any kind of interference?
