Firmware 2.02.08 Updates Broke Wi-Fi Connectivity
Model: C3700-1200NAS Unbeknownest to us, our Internet Service Provider (ISP) [Mediacom] pushed the firmware updates from version 1.0.X.X and our Wi-Fi connectivity stopped working late last year....

Do not suggest a factory reset or anything else for that matter other than to confirm if there is a flaw in the new firmware.I'm afraid that any attempts to fix this will almost certainly involved a factory reset. If you aren't willing to try that you are stuffed.
Likewise not contacting the ISP. They foisted this update on you, for reasons best known to themselves. Netgear will only bounce you back to them. Or put you "on hold" while they consult the ISP.
The choice is yours.

Thanks for the input/suggestion. I dreaded the factory reset and went ahead and did the factory reset with Netgear Genie Firmware version 2.02.08 at Advanced / Cable Information page. Rebooted the router/modem and reverted back to the standard 192.168.0.1 ip address. Firmware remained unchanged.
Input all the values back in and reset the ip address. Now everything works as it should. The only exception is that the new issue relates to Windows 10, which those users who owns an older laptop - started with either Windows XP/7 OS - with incompatible wireless card could either update the latest driver(s) from the manufacturer Website, buy another wireless card compatible for Windows 10 or buy a new laptop with the latest hardware. We have two laptops that could not connect to Wi-Fi after hours of research.
With that said, we know that it is not a Netgear router/modem issue because our iPad/phones connects to either 2.4g / 5 g Wi-Fi just fine. At least, your suggestion for a reset was a simple fix.
Thank you.
PS
Readers: this is for the C3700-100NAS router/modem with the latest firmware. Other router/modems with Netgear Genie may resolve the same result after ISP pushed the latest firmware. By the way, you can run a backup at Advanced > Administration > "Backup Settings" page, which I opted not to do after the firmware updates. I did run the backup update after I input all the values and settings back on for future problem(s). Good luck.

That's good news. Another one rescued by a reset. It is a pity that Netgear does not have ways of making these things easier. The least they could do is to write a small program to save the settings in a human friendly, readable format.
I know what you mean about Windows 10 and its drivers. Out of the box it seems to force generic drivers on us, many of them limited in their capabilities.
A complicating factor is that the people who make PCs and motherboards buy in things like network chips and they don't always keep these up to date, so you may have to go to the chipset makers' sites. In my case, I get the LAN drivers from Realtek.

Again, thanks Michael. Unfortunately, the manufacturer only provides support to a certain period of time especially on older devices that made it from Windows XP/7 Operating Systems to Windows 10. We managed to keep our laptops and now we are facing with Wi-Fi connections mainly to do with compatibility issues within Windows 10, where drivers for this specific issue is not available except for OS up to Windows 8. We skipped from Windows 7 to Windows 10 for ease of use, updates, and/or good operating system until the last update finally broke our WiFi connectivity. Right now, it has nothing to do with Netgear router/modem other than the built-in wireless network card.
However, let me state that we purchased and attempted to use the NETGEAR AC1200 High Gain WiFi USB Adapter (A6210) with no luck (CD software installation first and then plugged in the adapater on both laptops) after we found negative reviews on this product with the same scenario. We did not fault Netgear in its entirety simply because there are too many variables that could cause similar issues. It is easy to make consumers angry when they are accustomed to plug-n-play devices that works most of the time. Point blank, we just know that our laptops are over the age of plus 7 years. It is unfortunate that Microsoft opted to break this WiFi connection without any offer of using a W-10 driver for any older devices.
So far, the router/modem is working flawlessly with the new firmware.
Best regards
