Firmware support for VPN

Question

Anyone know if the C7000 firmware wan be updated locally or does the firmware need to be sownloaded and maintained by the ISP? &nbsp;If firmware can be updated locally, can the R7000 firmware (that supports Express VPN connectivity) be used on the C7000? &nbsp;Many thanks.

The C7000 can only be updated by the ISP. And they rarely do so.

And it doesn't support r7000 firmware as its not a router only device.
