Firmware update for C6220
I bought the C6220 modem router 2 months ago instead of renting one from the cable company. I would like to make sure the firmware is up to date, but the cable company and Netgear are saying that is the responsibility of the other. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Mike

ISPs prevent Netgear from updating firmware on cable modems.
Some ISPs ignore updates, probably because they would rather you rented something from them.
If your firmware is outdated, you cannot manually upgrade your cable modem’s or modem router’s firmware. You must contact your Internet service provider (ISP) to upgrade your firmware.
