firmware upgrade corrupt files wndr4300v2 V1 files ok but not usable.
The firmware updates , both the released and beta, are corrupt. Nowhere I could find to report to netgear without paying for customer support. no contact information like phone numbers or chat.

As my statements indicate I am a novice at best.
I once again tried to upgrade per the notes, to no avail. I opened the .zip file and copied the .img file to the desktop that allowed the upgrade through the router interface.I could not extract the .img file; only copy from the .zip file. I still get devices connecting in the network map without notifing me of a connect attempt ( randomly a phone, TV, and blueray player) Can I block by MAC address because no IP is identified.

Does that mean that the update failed, or that the update worked, but
it didn't solve your primary problem?> [...] I could not extract the .img file; only copy from the .zip

If these devices have no IP addresses, then they may already be
blocked (somehow).Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation. Get the User Manual. Read. Look for "Control
Access to the Internet"?
