Gigabit modem with multiple ports versus gigabit modem with 1 switch and a gigabit switch
Hello! I am looking at moving to gigabit internet, and thus need a compatible modem. I was looking at the CM1000 and noticed that it only has 1 port on the back, I believe another variant has 2 ports...
I have had zero problems with my two NEST controllers with two different Orbi systems. I can't say for sure about other NEST products though.
If you have a ASUS AC3200, might check in to one of there add-on MESH units that you can add to the AC3200. I believe some of there routers can be made into MESH units to work like Orbi does.

The forums (and the aimesh compatible list) says the ac3200 probably isn't getting aimesh. this might change but don't count on it because people have been waiting for a year for aimesh with this device.
Ok, I wasn't sure of the status on it. I have a friend that has the AX11000 router from them and got the RT-AC86 working in that AI MESH configuration. Says it's pretty good.
