Make sure your laptops networking settings are set to auto obtain IP addressing for the wired adapter in the laptop. Remove any static IP address configurations.

A couple of times I was only getting 35mbps, and upload was rediculous! I have a new HP laptop, new CM400 modem, and a 3 year old R6400 router. I followed the steps on Netgears help section, pluged in the ethernet cable, opened the browser, put in http://192.168.100.1 and nothing was found. I'm not a cumputer guru but I kinda know my way around. Does anybody have any light to shed?
