While you were there, did you fetch the C7100V User Manual?

What, exactly, does "my IP address" mean to you, and why, exactly, do
    you want to change it?

Presumably, you, personally, do not have an IP address.  Your C7100V
cable-TV modem+router has two IP addresses: LAN, and WAN/Internet.
Which one is your "my IP address"?

The LAN settings should appear in the C7100V management web site at
ADVANCED > Setup > LAN Setup.  The WAN/Internet settings should appear
at ADVANCED > Setup > Internet, but the typical arangement for these
involves "Get Dynamically from ISP", which means that your ISP, not you,
determines your WAN/Internet IP address.  In some cases, disconnecting
your C7100V from your ISP might give you a new WAN/Internet IP address
when the connection is reestablished, but that still depends on how your
    ISP arranges such things.

       How, exactly?

Not a very detailed description of anything.
