How to block specific sites on C7000v2?

I tried the block sites feature on genie, and it doesn't work for https sites. Thr genie web interface does not have a Parental controls option. I added safe openDNS in the DNS settings on the genie interface but that doesn't do anything.

Any suggestions on how to block specific domains / sites on nighthawk c7000v2? Thanks!

You'll need to do something outside your modem/router. As you have discovered, https security breaks the on-board blocking system.

The C7000v2 is also a cable modem/router which means that it doesn't allow the firmware update that will add features that work with things like Armor and Parental Controls.

That device is six years old. You may need to seek out something more capable if you want to do this at the router level, if that is even possible.
