How to change IP address for model: C6300 router

Hi Netgear Geniuses,

What is best way to change my ip address for this type of router C6300. I scoured the internet but with no luck. Also I might be looking into changing my ip address on a weekly bases would that be a red flag for my isp.

Thank you,

JC

  • Most ISPs assign IP addresses by MAC address.  Seeing as you can't change the C6300's MAC address while it is operating in router mode, you won't be able to change your IP address.

You may be able to accomplish this by putting the C6300 into bridge mode.  Go to ADVANCED > Administration > Router Mode and turn it off.  Behind the C6300, connect a router that has the ability to change its MAC address.  In theory, this should allow to you change your IP address.  No guarantees.  It all depends on your ISP.
