How to get 1gb speed from Netgear C700 AC1900
I have a Nighthawk C700 AC1900 which says that it supports up to 960 MBPS yet Comcast is telling me that it can't get anywhere near that. I called Netgear customer service and they stated that it most definitely can get that speed but some configuration might be necessary to change it? Since I'm past the 90 days of free support they wouldn't he me unless I paid for it. Any help/input on what I would need to do here? Thanks in advance

While the any 24x8 device is capable of around ~960 Mbps PHY rate (approx 40 Mbps per channel times 24 channels), Comcast is *NOT* deploying 1 Gbps services on 24x8 modem.
Comcast is requiring all the customers to have Minimum of DOCSIS 3.1 devices for gigabit service.
Whenever you purchase a modem, you need to check compatability with your service plan on xfinity's website or call them.

punch in your zip code and select service package you are using and it will show you compatible devices for that service level.
NTGR customer service would not be able to change how comcast deploys the service. I dont suggest to pay anything as there is no majic setting to make it work on Comcast gigabit. It will only work for max speed for which Comcast makes it compatible for.

comcast can provision maximum for 400 Mbps service on 24x8 devices.
you will not see gigabit speeds on DOCSIS 3.0 modems on Comcast.

Please STAY on one thread... multiple ones on the same problem just causes mixed results.
