Any C series modem is already a modem/router combo. They can only work in this mode or Modem Only mode. Not router mode.
You could keep the CM which are modem only units, then attached a external NetGear router it it.

So it's a C-series modem+router, not "a C series modem".

It's not what you asked for, but you should also be able to use it as
a wireless access point. See, for example:

But, with no (accessible) WAN/Internet Ethernet port, there's no
obvious way to connect it as a router.
