How to update to V2.02.17 when using Comcast (C3000-100NAS)
This page says that Comcast has to update my modem from V2.02.16 to V2.02.17.
Of course Comcast says they cannot do that, since I own the modem (I'm not renting it.)
There doesn't seem to be a place in the UI to update.
I downladed "NETGEAR genie", and it has an option to update, but when I try it, it says that there is no newer version available.
What else can I do/try?
All firmware on cable modems is pushed by the ISP and when you call you typically get a front line rep that does not know this and will tell you they do not update the firmware but netgear sends all firmware to the ISP they certify it and then they push it when they feel its ready.

I spoke to:
1) Someone on the chat (he had no idea)
2) Someone on the phone (he had no idea)
3) A specialist (who understood what I wanted)
4) Her supervisor, who eventually told me that Comcast only updates rented modems, not owned modems.
Also, why does the Netgear support page show V2.02.17 as the newest version?
Does it mean that V2.02.17 has been sent to Comcast but Comcast has not pushed it to customers yet?

Of course they were lying. This morning V2.02.17 was installed. So they DO upgrade owned modems.
