I’m an idiot. I bought another netgear modem (CM115V) and it’s locked me out.
Hey, so I stupidly bought another netgear product to follow on from my Orbi purchase. The CM1150V modem is plugged in and activated. q1) is it meant to help me connect to the internet? q2)...

And while I'm here... plugged the Orbi into a 5-port netgear (I know, stupid me) router and then the router into the modem and I don't get internet through wifi. Plug the Orbi directly into the modem and I get internet through wifi. Something about the modem Ethernet port 1 not accepting a router? Do I need a $10000 NetGear Ethernet cable to make it work? I hope it's not a configuration that because, well, passwords and serial numbers don't work in this modem.
yeehaw.
Scott.

A couple things.
1. The CM1150V has more than 1 ethernet port. But because most isp's only allow 1 public ip address, it means you can only connect 1 device to it. Unless you have an isp that does allow more than 1 (rare).
2. netgear products are sensitive to double nats. If you're going modem----router----orbi, then you'd be in a double nat
3. Saving passwords is more a feature of the computer/browser than it is of the modem. I've never had mine not save a password that I've setup. and I've had quite a few modems and routers.
4. The default login/password should be
login: admin
password: password
then you reset them to what you prefer.
