I'm maxed at 880 with my CM1000
I got the message for Xfinity too since even though when I bought my modem it said it'd support the high speeds - it doesn't.
So even though I have 1gb plan, I'm maxed at 880 with my CM1000.

Actually the CM1000 DOES support up to 1Gb on the down.
XF was said to have stopped supporting the 1Gb service and split this service into a 800Mpbs and a 1.2Gb service on there side last year. So since the CM1000 doesn't support anything past 1Gb, it can do 800Mpbs so if thats the service there pushing to the CM modem and no longer pushes 1Gb service, you'll be stuck at 800Mpbs instead. To get there 1.2Gb service, you'll need to upgrade to a mode with 2.5Gb WAN ports in back. NGs CM2000 and CM2050v have these higher speed WAN ports.

Dang it. So I guess I'll just suffer w/the lower speeds.
I'd hate to buy a newer model only to have an issue with their higher speeds in the next few years.
Unless that will never happen?

Ask your self, can you get by with 800Mpbs. If so, You'll be good for a while longer with the CM1000.
